My tf2 crashes every 5 minutes and apparently the only solutions are to either change my OS back to XP, format my PC or wait for Gaben to move his fat ass and do something...

Better start looking for that XP installing disc?

Medic/Heavies... why do they exist?????

Heavies alone have health way higher than they logically should, but latching on a medic to boost it to 450~ makes it a fucking sick joke to other classes. Throw in one of the most foolproof weapons in the game and items that can easily improve speed, and you have a class that literally has NO WEAKNESS.

Okay seriously though, he's slow as crap while firing, a huge head isn't exactly a strength either. No class can beat a heavy at his own game, but any decent spy, sniper, demo, sandman scout and some better soldiers can take out a heavy+medic. I'm not sure what you're doing that makes them seem so overpowered.

Fully charged headshots won't take down an overhealed heavy, for one thing. I usually go with the huntsman, so managing to first hit the medic, which is usually running all over the place behind the heavy, wait for the heavy's overhealing to go down, THEN kill the heavy is near impossible.

You must admit that Heavy's health is wayyy too high. It's double that of most other classes, and the fact that the amount of overhealing is proportional is just ridiculous. So many times I've made perfect headshots on heavies that do 375~ damage, and still don't get the kill. The fully charged headshot from the beginning of tf2 was designed to be an instant kill, like a backstab. The fact that logistically, Heavies have this overhealing backdoor, I get the feeling was unintentional. No other class has the ability to withstand that kind of exacting instant damage outside of uber, and the Heavy shouldn't be an exception to balance.

 

For the heavy to be a balanced class with that high a health bar, his weapons would need to be much weaker. For one thing, when a heavy gets a random crit cycle over two seconds, two or three hits alone is enough to take down many classes. This is enough to actually get very long range kills just from the sheer number of bullets.

I have sooo many gripes with how OP heavies are, but yeah, they definitely definitely are. Whenever I play on Heavy, I feel like I flipped a switch in TF2 to set the game to Easy mode. You don't have to aim. You don't have to worry about your health. You get showered in damage that in a fair game would kill any player, then just eat a sandwich, call for a medic, get overhealed with a backup uber so that you're essentially invulnerable. it's absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not sure where you got that one from. Fully charged shots do 150 damage, 150x3=450, instant kill. :|

You're not going to beat a heavy medic with a huntsman, you're not going to beat one with a demoknight, if you keep playing to a classes strengths and your own weaknesses it's impossible to get anywhere.

I've been killed by a lucky crocket or sticky many times as heavy but that doesn't make those classes OP. Heavy also lacks anything past close/medium to close range, the morons that just run straight at a revved up heavy are going to die nice and quick but those intelligent enough to stay at a reasonable range are just fine.

Build a sentry, build a dispenser, stand, get kills. But that only works against a team of total morons. It's the same with every class, playing against a team that doesn't know how to counter is easy kills.

A fully charged headshot from the sniper rifle is 450 damage. exactly how much HP the heavy has overhealed. the machina full charge does 518 damage, which is more than enough to kill an over healed heavy. Full charged headshots STILL kill everything in 1 hit. and don't try to convince me otherwise considering I just got back from a match trying out the Bazaar Bargain and taking out the heavies and THEN the medic. I have the damage meter enabled to show how much I'm doing so I know.

 

as for heavies not needing to worry? have you seen a heavy try to just go crazy out on his own in a group of enemies? he doesn't last very long. And even if you give him a medic, if he's an idiot, he'll just die a little slower and maybe take out someone. kritzkrieg + sticky spam is one of the better(actually one of the best) counters I've seen because the heavies medic won't last very long at all against that and the heavy will go down in 2-3 blasts.

I'm going off the Huntsman, which is 360 at full. Sniper rifles are fine, but you can't get as many kills, and anything close range is a death sentence for the sniper.

Well the huntsman has it's own upside as well. In exchange for instant kill damage, It charges much faster and has a drastically increased base damage. Full charging the huntsman will drop any full hp light/medium-light class into the red, allowing you or a team member to easily finish him off. not only that but tapping the fire button and getting a head shot kills half the classes giving them yet another edge. It's only fair that there should be things they can't take out, that being an overhealed heavy. I think that's a fair price to pay for increased base damage and increased mobility while fighting.
