The scout can have similar health to other classes, if you get the delivery boy polycount pack. Otherwise, the scout still has "similar health" to 3 other classes. Almost 50% of the characters have 125 health. They're meant to have low health because they all have a special ability that compensates for their low health. The sniper has the ability to kill any class in one shot. The engineer has the ability to build a bullet-spitting rocket-launching death machine. The spy can turn invisible, disguise as the enemy team, and kill anybody with one hit from behind. The scout has an insanely powerful CQB weapon, double jump, and run faster than any other class in the game. If you've seen a GOOD scout, you'd think the class was OP, because only a soldier or a heavy with amazing tracking skills would be able to kill a GOOD scout.

Demoman doesn't have abilities to make up for low health? Things like firing grenades around corners and long distance sticky camping would certainly qualify I'd think, and Demoman has 175.

That's because he's a heavy class. His lowered speed makes up for his buffed health. Plus, he has a lot of difficulty fighting skilled enemies head-on, especially in CQB because he has no line-draw weapons and his explosives cause damage to himself if the enemy's too close.

I'd say lowered speed is not enough of a weakness to justify that in comparison to a class like Scout. Take a look at Heavy. His only weakness is lowered speed and he's the most overpowered class in the game.

I'm probably ludicrously misinterpreting this, but are you saying Scout is underpowered against the Demoman? While you make several good points, and assuming I'm reading this correctly, that's a first.

Heavy is most certainly not the most overpowered class in the game! To me, an enemy heavy is only a nuisance when I'm playing pyro or if I am a heavy as well. Yes, they're a bit of an obstacle to take on, but the skill ceiling is so low for him. As a scout, which is by far my best class, a heavy is actually fun to take on. I've got it down to a science. First, it depends on how I approach the Heavy. If it's from behind, I've got an easy kill. Just get right behind him. You can get in two meatshots before he winds up, one if he's got the Tomislav. Then, you circle strafe, all the while scoring hits. If he catches up to you, jump in the opposite direction and then double jump over his head. Continue to shoot until he's dead. If you approach him head on, jump straight, and then double jump to your left or right, then, double jump over his head again, circle strafe and shoot. It's an even better challenge when it's a Heavy Medic combo cuz you have to angle yourself so that the heavy doesn't see you and when you shoot the medic, the Heavy isn't alerted.

Also, Snipers love heavies because they're so easy to kill. Spies love heavies because they're so easy to kill. As long as you have the right classes on the field, no other class is overpowered.

To be fair, I think the Heavy is the most overpowered (I don't think he's OP in of himself; just relatively speaking). Every other class is balanced, except for a few unlocks which may be underpowered or overpowered, but those are few and far between.

I disagree. I think the heavy is perfectly balanced. Like said by FS a Heavy is an easy target for snipers and spies. And can be killed by most other classes using the correct technique.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The heavy is the 2nd biggest target by most classes, second only to the medic

And that's where he get's brought back down to earth. Any good team knows that if there's a heavy, there's gonna be trouble if you don't gang rape him.

Which is another thing I'll do as scout is run in from the side, kill the medic, then get out and let my team finish the heavy.

I never understood why, as a Medic, other medics pocket Heavies. I can't stand how slow they go. As a medic, I'd much rather pocket a Soldier. I Love rocket jumping soldiers. They help build my Uber and don't make me wait up on them. They're much more mobile than heavies, and a good soldier buddy won't let me die. Heavies on the other hand, tend to treat you like a weapon attachment, like you have to be there and it doesn't matter if you die or not. This is from personal experience.

Fluttershy: What you say is truth; it's just the Heavy is the "Medic buddy mascot" of TF2. In fact, Soldiers are often pocketed by Medics in Division 1 leagues due to their health, mobility, and killing power.

...I should reword what I said. The Heavy is the *closest* to being overpowered; I don't think he's terribly powerful; he just doesn't require a terrible amount of effort to play.

Clearly you've never pocketed ABG. :P

Circle strafing scouts make me laugh. Unless a scout has the sandman or I don't have a medic, a scout running straight at the highest damage output weapon in the game is a free kill for me. With a medic the only real 1v1 threat are spies, (most are easily countered by not being an idiot and looking behind you and watching the kill feed for backstabs) sticky spam demos, (extremely dangerous for a heavy, haven't found an effective counter :( ) a good sniper, (they still have to wait for a full charge to one shot me so not impossible) and on certain maps, ninja environmental death compression blasting pyro bastards!!!

I'm guessing you have a particularly calm hand to track scouts easily. My only counter against you when I scout is sandman and attacking when you're distracted.

*ahem*
Unless a scout has the sandman
And I was talking about 1v1 with a medic. I can take on 3 enemies at once with just a medic, with some backup a lot more. Otherwise it's too easy to get overwhelmed.

Yeah i read what you posted. I'm SAYING that the only way I've ever had a chance with you as scout is the sandman and sneaking up when you're occupied on the fools who attack head on.

DAMMIT I NEED A PC THAT WILL RUN TF2 RIGHT NAO!

I wanna see how good ABG is. You can talk all you want and I'll believe you to an extent, but i won't believe you can best me until i see for myself. But it sounds to me like ABG has hit the Heavy's skill ceiling.

@ABG are you talking about scouts that just circle or the ones that do all kinds of crazy shit, like platforming, jumping on and over your head, etc. And i doubt you could take on two good scouts at once. Most competitive players can't handle that.

You have to admit, it IS on Dustbowl, one of the least Scout friendly and most Heavy friendly maps ever produced, next to 2fort. I'm not ranking on you or anything but spawn camping Medic/Heavies on Dustbowl are an easy way to gain some points.
