Honestly, I find it's more popular on tumblr and Deviantart than anywhere else. Kinda like how people are trying to get Littlest Pet Shop to be the new MLP because 'that shit's old now'.

Littlest Pet Shop is much girlier than MLP. I gave it a shot, but disliked it. Singing is aiight, but the rest is so very... bleh. Adventure Time, however, appeals to me. The idea of Adventure... and TIME. IT'S SO FUCKING INCREDIBLE!

Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time

Adventure Time also wasn't originally targeted towards little girls. Originally, I don't think AT was even like it is now with its humor. It was sort of like Spongebob in a way.
