Did it already show the "you have been trolled" epileptic flash animation when you checked it out before posting? The domain belongs to some $4.84/month hosting service. There's some comment in the HTML code that says "Achievement unlocked: Troll the internet." I don't thing it's anything but some troll.

 

What makes you think HL3/EP3 will show up in February? Did it say so on the site before it was replaced with that epileptic animation?

I expect a plot twist and some damn awesome gameplay as always! And snow... Even though I don't really like snow that much.

Open world doesn't mean "no story". Look at Farcry 3, for example.

Half-Life 3 is actually being developed into a RPG as Gordon Freeman realises how strong his inner angst has become. With only his crowbar (now about as big as him), him and his terribly exposed sidekick Alyx wander into countless adventures, befriending several flamboyantly dressed fellows that stick around for no apparent reason.

They set their final goal to put an end to the terrible reign of the Combine, leaving them to defeat the sungod-deathlord-worldeater-Advisor Deathshadow McBlood. After beating the storyline boss, you can fight G-Man as the extremely difficult bonus boss if you've filled the pre-requisites. Once you've finished them the Combine portals close and the world is safe once more!

Might've been Kotaku or Game Informer. Not sure. I just found it when I googled Half-Life 3.
