When did I ever say "all"? I said most religions, and not all members... Still, even 1% of ~1 billion is staggering when they decide to help out. (and it's a significantly larger number than the US military population)

And if. And why. And how. There are too many factors against you right now. In any case, Israel doesn't need it. They can and will go self sufficient if needed.

One very simple reason why most Christian religions will stand with Israel: The Bible says that anyone that doesn't will lose. This alone is enough reason for most people to stand with Israel, even if Israel is acting like an idiot is running things.

How are we off-topic? The USA has more Christians in it than any other religion, (over 75% of the US population according to several reports) and this thread is about the interaction of the US with Israel, and the reasons for said interactions.

In my opinion this is significant because it reflects the evolving sentiment in the UK and in Europe towards Israel.

 

I personally do not think that if the US' unquestioning support for Israel will evaporate, the Europeans will rush to replace the Americans. Quite the opposite, I think the combination of a genuine popular disapproval of Israeli policies towards Palestine with the still widespread antisemitism will mean most EU countries will just watch from the side, if not actively supporting the Arabs against Israel.
