JC, they obviously don't understand just how awesome you are. You need to walk in there, slap someone of authoritative status and say, "You're my bitch and I'm taking charge of things around here! Now go get me some coffee!"

The model itself is kind of blocky, but the texture is pretty good so far.

The paint probably is the reason why it looks blocky, it's actually pretty smooth in a colorless shader.

 

i'm guessing the hardpoint pylons are to be added later, or you're going with the hardpoint(s) being underneath the plane under a bay door. also i can barely see the vertical flight fan but i'm guessing that's going to be underneath some sort of bay door that'll reveal the fan after a trigger or rig. you're planning to make the canopy transparent right?

 

I don't actually know which variant has underwing hardpoints. But you incorrectly assumed I was making an F-35B (which has a partially bulbous region behind the cockpit, where the VTOL fan is stowed under smoothed retractable doors) but I'm making an F-35A, which does not have VTOL capabilities, nor is it Carrier-capable.

 

The canopy I'll worry about later.

i didn't assume. i saw the fan in the left area in one of your previous pictures.

in the upper left area(that grid) i thought that shape was the VTOL fan.

I'm imagining the B form is much slower than the A form. Yeah, I believed Bill there, but I did notice the portion behind the front of the F-35B I saw in the Battlefield 3 trailer was remeniscent of an SR-71, as it doesn't have a conical shape, but more of a flatter, wider style.
