Half Life 3 at Gamescom?

HOLY. SHIT.

 

Apparently Valve did ask for it to be taken off the list; but according to a Gamescom representative, "every single game on the list will be shown at Gamescom.

 

Color me rather intrigued.

Also it notes Bioshock: Infinite which I remember 2K announcing it won't be at gamescom(and they really don't have a reason to be at gamescom either), so there's that.

 

Also again, with the TF2 MVM and the Steam community updates going on it is unlikely they will show something so big at the same time as well.

I know all that. BUT, there's one detail that leaves me optimistic: A Gamescom representative also confirmed that Valve specifically asked for them to put Half Life 3 on the list, even though they shortly changed their minds and asked them to remove it.

Did they or did someone screw up and interpret "CS:GO" or "10 foot UI" as "Half Life 3"?

Lambda Generation apparently talked to a representative, and were told that yes, Valve asked that Half Life 3 specifically be put on the list.

 

Seriously, I doubt that their english is THAT bad.

This makes me think Valve was originally going to announce it there but since that fuckup they decided 'Fuck it. No HL3 for you.' and now when it comes they're not gonna do it.

 

I sure hope not but still.

They're probably going to announce it a few days before the game release. All that suspense in a short amount of time would definitely make for huge sales.
