How do you put custom content in Garry's Mod?

I do a fair bit of modeling and I have become more and more frustrated with the tiny list of decent land vehicles. I was hoping to find out what do I need to put a custom car ('57 Bel Air) into Gmod. I would also like to find out how difficult the process is. Thank you to any one who helps.
