As long as individuals are willing to innovate and there's an interested audience that's willing to invest their attention to said innovators, machinima will go on.

 

The website Machinima.com however, probably will not, as it like most large websites, depend on reliable breadwinner series that have fanbases large enough to justify big expensive websites and companies. Analogously, a website like the Escapist Magazine would undergo some serious downsizing if they lost Zero Punctuation.

I should have been more specific, I meant machinima.com. People eventually will lose interest in it. It has happened before with things. People won't want the same rehashed thing over and over again. Machinima.com is doing just that. And that is why I think they will die.
