I was thinking that...Civil Protection could be the future of Freeman's Mind.

 

I mean...Think..

 

Gordon arrives to City 17, and he sees all the mess....He decides to change his name to Mike and enter to Civil Protection.

 

 

I really stupid what I'm thinking, I know...But, huh...I don't know.

First of all, Mike doesn't have the same personnality at all. Why wouldn't Freeman know how to aim anymore, why wouldn't he know what a houndeye is, and get his ass kicked by it, when he already faced thousands of them ?

Well, Freeman is too good and crazy to be Mike.

Actually, that sounds like a really interesting alternate universe type of deal. I mean, I'd rather FM just go into HL2 like normal, but that's an interesting way to look at it.
