Introduce Yourself!

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've been following Ross's work since around episode 11 of Freeman's Mind. I've seen most of the most polished videos since then.

I don't know yet whether I will stick around since I have little to say and these kinds of old-fashioned forums have basically been replaced by the social media websites, which are a mixed bag.

it's a shame, honestly

worst part of it all is the fact that reddit has largely replaced a lot of these forum boards which sadly means if you want to join a community like this one you're largely relegated to having to either put up with redditors or looking for one of the larger remaining forum boards. Tumblr was PROBABLY the next best thing but that's kinda been replaced by Twitter too at this point.

I never got into Tumblr. Some things I don't like about Reddit is how much brigading there can be.

I also don't how the UI is built on gamification, and how the whole voting system and system of delayed notifications give you a dophamine rush to make the site as addictive as possible. And having one account by default for every topic you'd want to talk about makes cyber-stalking and doxxing easier.

What is nice about  the older forum format is that threads can last for years with less gamification to trick you into thinking you're enjoying conversations you're not.

   Hello folks, I have been watching Ross's productions for a few years now;

I am Game Dungeonite, with no particular interest for Freeman's mind.

Signing up to a forum takes me back to Y2K times.

I have been a making a few Hard Edge video essays related to games but

I am getting no views nor feedback, not even to hate on it, and you how

much we humans Love Hate.

I suppose my work has good affinity with Game Dungeon people like myself,

and as such I am telling you about it.

My last one is a futurist analysis of Cyberpunk 2077 in which I argue against

its claim of being Sci-Fi; you are all invited if such a discussion peeks your

interest, here's a link.

I'll try to vagabond around here every now and then; I still haven't managed

to ID a track from the Deus Ex Ost highlighted by Ross in his video at 14:22,

if everybody knows, I am interested!

My best guess is "DuClare Chateau". That's the part of the game where that track plays, but officially pegging it to the soundtrack itself gets a little odd here.

If you take the music files from the game, that snippet appears at the very end of the file ParisChateau_Music.umx, though there's some weirdness since the track keeps playing even after it's official end time, which is where that part appears. Probably has to do with using VLC to listen to it, so maybe something more suited to extracting/listening to audio files from Unreal engine based games would be better up to that.

However, the equivalent track in the official soundtrack downloaded from the GOG version doesn't appear to have that part, but a lot of the tracks appear to be remixed in some way regardless, so it could have been trimmed. I don't have my original disc copy any more to check from there unfortunately, if it was even on there to begin with.

As such, DuClare Chateau (official track name) stands as my best guess.

Man, I was completely flabbergasted, I couldn't find it.

That explains a lot; I've just checked on Youtube and, with

your pointers I have definitely found it:

           Deus Ex - 083 - DuClare Chateau - Conversation

I have thanked you there, in the comments section; I mean,

if it's stays on since Youtube seems very keen on deleting

my comment.

I didn't know Ross had a forum!

Anyway, I'm gonna get some sleep until some cars hit the track here at Interlagos.

This place is pretty relaxed
Don't post porn, racial slurs, and most importantly don't try to sell us something(biggest killer).
Otherwise you can talk about anything you want.
