^ That chart is too small to contain all the possible genres, who knows why the creator didn't include classical. Here's a list of most of the popular genres of music and some of their subgenres:

Better still, Wikipedia has a huge list, but who wants to go through 100s of genres ony by one:

A-F

G-M

N-R

S-Z

Try checking out the old-and-outdated Ishkur's music guide if you're interested in a 2004 interactive representation of EDM genres.

Finally after years of working on it, Ishkur's music guide 3.0 was released sometime recently. Tons of music genres to go through, i'm currently listening to the Amiga/Tracker timeline, but I know i'm gonna spend a few hours going through this guide in my spare time.  https://music.ishkur.com/#

@Ross Scott I think you might appreciate it too, although its focused on electronic music and less so on metal ?

You can find examples of other genres here: http://everynoise.com/

lol damn i should've listened to more rob zombie, i only know one song from nfs underground

That's actually the track that got me "into" Rob Zombie in the first place... I had heard several other songs from him, but never knew who it was, and it was before Google was quite so simple to use, so I had to wait for NFSU to find out. (very recognizable voice he has)

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

man that sounds so annoying, it just sounds like someone who's screwing around with his new synth

even as far as classical music goes, i think this sounds pretty terrible, and if someone played this to me, i would probably beg them to just turn it off

i'm really confused by the YouTube comments, this is either clearly a joke, or this has to be straight up incomplete - the people in the comments just come off as really pretentious, and they use some big words to justify this whole thing

i don't think there's anything clever in making something terrible on purpose, but... people do watch The Room for some reason... and people actually like that movie, for, some reason - i don't understand the internet

I mean, not everything is for everyone, sure. It all boils down to how much tolerance you have for dissonance or even for classical music in general. If it does nothing for you then that's completely fine, but this was written in 1936 and is still being performed and listened to to this day and many people say they've been greatly inspired by it, so please do understand that it's not supposed to be "terrible on purpose" and that people aren't pretending to like it just to look smart. Here's a video that attempts to explain why many people admire Webern's music when it sounds so ugly and meaningless to so many others:

I love classical, but i don't have a deep appreciation for it because I know diddly-dick about music theory.
