RuneScape 2006 Remake

I wanted to let all of the RuneScape fans who played in 2006 or before know that a group of developers have started a project to remake the game under the title RS2006. I recommend making an account (perhaps with a different password than the one you usually use if this actually a huge scam). From what I've seen, it seems pretty legitimate and with good intent. I knew about that project when they were still remaking 2007(they later changed it 2006)

Was massively addicted to this game a long time ago, and I don't plan on returning to it. I liked the old graphics though!

I played at least a year and a half right about when they updated the graphics. Got pretty far until I got hacked. >

I've ran private servers... For classic, 317, 462, and 502.

I was actually hoping Jagex was releasing that version of RS. (like classic)

I think it would be kind of a bad move for Jagex to do that, because of the Love the 06/07 era gets. And motivation for the Dev team would go down the drain if you spend a ton of time on new content and half the players only play an old version that never gets updates.

It's a private server that will (eventually) contain all content up to mid 2006.

You can still get vanilla WoW private servers. Just have to install from an old install source, or the original discs, and then not update.

Private servers are usually very laggy.. But Ill look into this sometime.

When there are less then 200 people on the servers, there isn't any lag... There are quite a few of them too.
