It can't possibly be official with HTML as badly written as on that site, even by my standards.

I found something interesting.

Did some registry searches using the above website and Valve's website for portal 2. (thinkwithportals.com)

I ended up going through the registry history for Valve. They've got some interesting ones dating way back.

half-life3.com - 1999 (redirects to Orange Box site right now)

halflife3.org - 1999

halflifeportal.net - 2006

halflifethemovie.com - 2003

Obviously they created the fist two when Half Life took off and they wanted to hold down future URLs. The strange thing is that these sites are all still being paid for by Valve 12 years later.

Even MORE intriguing is that one of them was apparently "updated" only a few months ago, though the DNS is still blocked to mortal man.

Halflifeportal.com is also kind of interesting. It definitely points to the idea of Portal being in the half life universe from early on, though that URL was never used.

No idea about halflifethemovie.com. Maybe it was a joke or maybe a movie really was in preproduction back in 2003.

Oh, and valvesucks.com in 2004. No idea what that's about.

Oh, and the website from the OP is probably fake. It's not running from any of Valve's mirror's locations, even if the client is hidden (which it is).

They probably got halflifethemovie.com to stop other people from grabbing it.

I think people are generating their own hype for the game sfter that whole T-shirt fiasco. Episode Threes probably still chugging along slowly and trolls just want to screw around with all of us crazed Half-Life fans.

Well, they already announced that it wouldn't be Episode 3. Gabe a long while back said they decided to drop the Episode format. The next game will be Half Life 3, no doubt about that.

This feels similar to the "bungieaerospace.org" (as opposed to the official .com url) site back before Bungie announced what aerospace actually was. In the end that .org url turned out to be a fake.

As you can see both sites are registered through the same hosting site. which could be a coincidence. Following this i did a little bit of research and managed to trace both of those, plus the http://orange.half-life2.com and http://orange.half-life3.com (both openly owned by valve). they all lead back to a single IP address. 208.64.202.34 which is registered to none other than the VALVE CORPORATION

The domains for half-life3.com and half-life2.com will have the same IP if you ping them because half-life3.com redirects to half-life2.com.

Also note: http://www.whois.net/whois/black-aperture.com

This 'David Hassen' is not 'Valve Corporation' who you will note own the domain half-life2.com, half-life3.com, steampowered.com, and so on.

I'm sorry, but whilst Valve may have something up and coming (apparently the dropping of HL related hints has now been authorized), that black-aperture site is certainly fake.

Ok am I the only one who can't open this anymore?

I mean I opened that earlier that day but now it's just black :|

And am I the only one who never saw this day come? The day when there's actually a clue to hl3?

All my dreams are shattered now!

The minor hope of ep3\ hl3 are now gone...

I'd keep an eye on this site if I were you. :)
