N64 emulation isn't very accurate either.

 

True, but the few games I have played on it (e.g. driving games and platformers) were all fine. It's the shooters that get the worst end of the deal since none of the emulators I tried at the time support mouse movement. So trying to play Goldeneye on a keyboard was impossible. It was better with a gamepad though.

 

Oh and I used to emulate GBA a lot; I had so much fun with Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission

Well, GoldenEye was designed to work with the N64 gamepad specifically so that does make sense.

 

And yeah, GBA emulation is pretty accurate, but VisualBoy Advance keeps lagging on my computer for no reason.

'Visualboy'? The one I used was called 'Virtualboy' and it rarely lagged. The DS emulators lagged like s*** though, that's another reason why I gave up on it. And speaking of lag, anyone ever tried to get a gamecube/wii emulator running? It's like watching a powerpoint slideshow -_-

Yeah, any console from Dreamcast on is a nightmare to emulate.

I have that "Dolphin" Gamecube/Wii emu running and it's very smooth.

It depends laregely on your computer specs.

Well I wouldn't exactly call my PC a powerhouse, from what I've seen of 101phase's videos I'd say his specs are comparable to mine.

I didn't say that, I said it depends on your pc specs. By that I mean that some emulators are rather dependent on how your RAM is managed, your system stability and not specifically how powerful your PC is.

Last time I tried Dolphin, it was still in its early stages so I don't know whether it's better optimised now. But at the time I remember trying Smash Bros Melee, and it was simply unplayable. In regards to my specs, I have an Aspire 5739G with Intel Core 2 duo 2.0Ghz processor with 4 gb ram (but apparently Vista limits to 3 gb).
