I'm a furry. I do have fetishes, but I'm not like "FORCE ON OTHER PEOPLES" with them.

And there are some crossovers with the Furry and MLP community, for instance, last week's FurAffinity banner...

By the history of Alyxx's IRLs I believe she is a furry. Ask her what furries really are. :)

"When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

Like I said. I'm pretty much a Furry too. It's a niche thing, so if you don't like it, it'll be hard to understand why we do.

Ok Now I've got more questions then answers like what is a fetish, or a furfag, or cloppers. I know I must look like a fool for not knowing this but I have lived a mostly sheltered life so I'm really in the dark with a lot of things

Fetish: Something you think of sexually attractive that either isn't sexual or is just unusual.

Furfag: Someone who is sexually attracted to anthropomorphic animals.

Clopper: Same thing as Furfag but with Ponies

It's hard to explain a niche. Anyway, a furry is basically a person who likes anthropomorphic creatures. Animals typically.

Okay, so I think I'm one.

Nope, I'm much more dragon fan.

Being sexually attracted to cartoon ponies is wrong you guys.

Subjective.

Just saying. Should also clarify that "furfag" and "clopper" are the derogatory term. Don't think I've ever heard either used outside of an insult.

A furry to me is a person interested in antropomorphic animals, spanning all sorts of artforms ranging from visual art like paintings, drawings and film to video games. Some furries also feel they have a spiritual animal inside them, and find a unique animal they personally relate to as it carries their personal characteristics. A person who is shy for instance could relate to a fox, and a person who feels strong and powerful could relate to either a wolf or a bear.

Regarding the sexual side of the furry fandom, some people make pornographic art with antro characters, which can be called a fetish or pornographic genre in of itself, but there are also several fetishes depicted within this genre, some of them impossible to do irl which is always the most alluring aspect. It's kind of like hentai, a very broad subgenre in of itself, only with antropomorphic animals.

I personally despise people who use the term "furfag" about people who feel aroused by anthro pornography. It's a deregatory generic term that just shows the lack of respect they have. Just let people indulge into whatever they want, that's my opinion. It's all just harmless fantasy anyway.

I think the main reason this disturbs some people is because it creates an eerie connection with bestiality, which of course is the act of having sex with real animals. Granted some furries could be called "zoophiles" in the sense they feel attracted to real life animals, but this is a microscopic minority really, and an even smaller number of them have actually tried having sex with real animals.

Furry pornography is NOT bestiality. It's adult fantasy if anything else and shouldn't be taken that seriously.

Very informative, Thank-you. Although before this thread I was ignorant enough to think furries were just people that wore animal costumes at specified parties.

If you REALLY identified as a Dragon, you'd be Otherkin.

Also, don't people use Wikipedia anymore?

He just kept talking and talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt it was really quite hypnotic...
