Going off the topic a smidge, does anybody have a hard time distinguishing folks gender on forums? I know it's deeply unimportant in the grand scheme of things and I'm not going to respond to posters any differently regardless of their sex, but I worry about offending folks with the incorrect suffix or making assumptions based on their avatar or username. It's a minefield of internet etiquette that the forums format is ill-equipped to assail.

Because you really can tell the gender of the cat in question just by looking. It's unmistakable. I almost feel silly even bringing it up!
