It's good that you made it back home, buddy. I know how it feels that from driving from Madison, Wisconsin to Wilmington N.C. is something else too. I purchased Half-Life 1 and I am stuck at the area with the nuclear missiles. I am doing my best to get through it, but it is hard, even on the easy level.
