Violence in Video Games

Games don't have to be violent for me to enjoy them. That said, violence in video games doesn't bother me either.

Feel free to PM me about almost anything and I'll do my best to answer. :)

There are two kinds of violence in games. Violence that's important to the story, and violence that's there for the fun of it. I'm fine with both.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

For me, violence is not a requirement as long as the game is fun, but violent games should be violent as hell for me or else they feel kind of tame.

Right, I only meant in violent games. If the rockets in Portal turned me into little pieces of meat, I'd be fine with it. That doesn't mean that the extreme gore would be necessary, though.

their being violence in video games, i think, suppresses everyone's desires to stab everyone around them with a bullet...or breeds said desires, really depends on the person. i don't know; i'm not an expert, but i know i'm not killing anyone.

soon though...soon.

Bulletstorm was probably my favorite violent game. But 'violent' is a bit of a vague term. As i would label Pikmin as a violent game. I mean throwing tiny creatures onto other creatures and beating the shit out of them only to drag they're lifeless corpse into a ship to turn them into more pikmin? JESUS!

They call me Snake. They call me Es Rake. They call me Srahkay. That's nahmaname. That's nahmaname. That's not my... name.

Best Violent game? You bet your ass it's Doom.

For me the satisfaction comes from feeling like I made an impact. It doesn't have to be gory, though I don't mind it. Like in Uncharted. The game has a little bit of blood, but the real satisfaction when you shoot a pirate point-blank with a shotgun is when he flips and slams into the wall behind him.

I have the perfect comeback. A Spaz-12.

Shooting the double barrel shotgun in Doom 2 is one of the most satisfying things in a video game for me.

Violence for the sake of violence never amuses me. Fortunately, there aren't many games like that.

I don't need there to be violence for me to enjoy a game. Hell, I love Viva Piñata.

You won't like Serious Sam then.

And when he gets to heaven,

To saint Peter he will tell;

One more soldier reporting, sir.

I've served my time in Hell!
