Is Metal Gear Solid for PC any good?

Never played it on PC. Here's guessing you could get a PS1 copy and play on an emulator just fine.

As for the quality of the PS1 original, I can vouch for it being one of the greatest games (if not THE greatest) on that platform.

Metal Gear Solid Integral (packed with the VR Missions addon and featuring "Very Easy" difficulty) was released for PC but got bad reviews for being pretty much inferior to other PC games of the time graphically as it looked identical to the PS1 version. Metal Gear Solid 2 also got a PC release. I am not sure about MGS3 or 4.

MGS3 was exclusive to PS2 and MGS4 was exclusive to PS3. Anyway, the only way to release 4 for PC would be to put it on like 6 dvds, and the installed data would hog like 40 gb of your hard drive.

OP:

MGS2 and MGS3 are being released in HD for ps3 and 360 sometime later this year, if you finish MGS1.

MGS was on the xbox?! O_O This I did not know. I know it was on PS1 and a remake for GameCube but Xbox? This requires immediate investigation.

After investigation, I have come under the conclusion that it was NOT on Xbox. However, from what I've heard of the PC version, apparently it sucks. I recommend getting The Twin Snakes on Gamecube (also works on Wii) and if you don't have that, download it from the PSN Store on the PS3. If you have neither, god help you.

MGS2 might've been on the XBox.

Mgs was remade for gamecube with stupid cool cutscenes and it's now a collectors item.

I'm really glad I picked it up years ago.

It was. I have a copy of my own but my 360 does not like it. :(
