I havent! Is it any good? Is it available in Australia?

What were your favourite movies as a child?

Dunno if it's available in Australia but it's pretty damn good.

My top 10 movies as a child (not ranked in any particular order), and I'm gonna try my best to not make it ALL Disney films (cause I was kind of raised on Disney):

01. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

Just one of Disney's best live action movies. Even as an adult I find it an incredibly engaging movie with incredibly talented animals acting as the main roles. Was always weak for movies like these as a kid that had animals in them.

02. Beauty and the Beast

I don't think I need to say more, I think it's Disney's best animated movie, it moved me to tears as a child and captivated me in so many ways.

03. Garfield On The Town

Technically a TV special but I'm listing it here since it remains my favourite Garfield related animated thing to this day and it's much better than any of the "movies" that came later on

04. Michael Jackson Moonwalker

Really just a collage of music videos but it was still amazing

05. Flåklypa Grand Prix

Known internationally as Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, Norwegian animated puppet movie about an inventor who builds a race car to get revenge on a former assistant who stole his blueprints for a revolutionary car part, considered a national treasure in Norway

06. The Adventures of Chataran (known in the US as Milo & Otis)

A Japanese movie similar to Homeward Bound though it's more the life story of a curious and adventurous cat named Chataran. Allegedly a lot of animal cruelty happened behind the scenes of this film which kind of makes it a bit cringy to watch nowadays but it has an amazing soundtrack and the cinematography is also stellar.

07. Rock-a-Doodle

Amazing Don Bluth movie about a rooster who is shunned by his friends and leaves to become a rock star in the big city. It's both a great love letter to Elvis and 50's culture as well as a really engaging story about how a mere child can accomplish grand things. It also gets really dark at times.

08. Atlantis: The Lost Empire

HUGELY underrated Disney flick in my opinion. While I don't think it's objectively one of their best, I just love the side characters in the movie and the TON of quotable lines. In this time period, Disney released some of their funniest animated movies so this and The Emperor's New Groove was my jam for a long time and I watched both to the point I could recite entire scenes verbatim.

09. The Rescuers Down Under

How do you make a sequel that is superior to the original movie, especially when it's Disney? Well, Disney kinda did it with this one. This has to be one of the best Disney movies with just breathtaking animation, a great score and a lot of great scenes. I didn't even know about the original when I watched this one, so it truly did overshadow the original.

10. The Little Mermaid

I've ALWAYS identified so much with Ariel... I've always felt different, always felt a bit uncomfortable with my body (especially when I hit puberty and even up until now...) and I still see a lot of myself in her. I also think Ursula is an amazing villain.
